Pioneer Underwriters has expanded its Political Violence team with the appointment of Mark Kelsey as underwriter.
Kelsey joins Pioneer from Advent Underwriting, where he most recently served as a terrorism and political violence underwriter.
He has nine years of re/insurance industry experience, having previously worked within the Terrorism & Political Violence and Kidnap, Piracy and Terrorism underwriting teams at Aspen.
“Pioneer’s priority remains to strengthen our niche product offering, to provide value to our capital partners through access to excellent distribution and underwriting services,” said Graeme Rayner, Group Director of Underwriting at Pioneer.

Pioneer is the underwriting group within Minova Insurance Holdings and operates Pioneer Syndicate 1980, which launched on 1 January 2018 with gross premium income of £278 million and underwrites across Property, Casualty, Marine and Energy.
