Pioneer Underwriters (Pioneer), part of Minova Insurance Holdings Ltd., has announced the hiring of Andrew Corton as a project cargo underwriter.
Corton joins Pioneer as of March 1st from his most recent role with Pembroke Managing Agency where he held the role of divisional director for cargo underwriting business.
At Pioneer, Corton will be based in London and to Brook Styles, underwriter in marine specialty at the firm.
He will be tasked with underwriting project cargo and specialist cargo risks, as well as in supporting Brook on the general marine cargo insurance portfolio.

Corton has more than 35 years of insurance industry experience, largely gained underwriting for the Lloyd’s market.
He joined Pembroke in 2011 following seven years spent working at Travelers. Before that, Corton held cargo roles at Phoenix Assurance Company (now RSA), Bruce & Wright and C.I. de Rougemont. His insurance career began at Trinity Insurance Company in 1984.
