Pioneer Underwriters, which operates as a risk carrier and managing agent currently with the backing of Liberty Syndicate 4472, has launched its new Property E&S unit, which is to be led by David Phillips.
Phillips will be based in Alpharetta, Georgia, and brings more than 20 years of property insurance expertise to the role. He will exclusively write on a non-admitted basis, providing both primary and excess layers.
Pioneer explains that a wide range of business will be considered, including Commercial Real Estate, Bank Schedules, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Entertainment and Habitational (excess only). And, the team will underwrite all types of protection, which includes All Risk, DIC and Specified Perils.

Phillips began his property facultative career in the early 1990’s with J. Linneman & Company, which was acquired by Wellington Underwriting in 1999.
