QBE Re, the reinsurance arm of Australian insurer QBE, has expanded its US Casualty treaty hub and appointed Salvatore Samà as Senior Vice President, Treaty Underwriting – FINPRO.
Based in New York, Samà will take charge of driving the development and advancement of QBE Re’s US Financial and Professional Lines treaty portfolio while also building a US FINPRO underwriting team.
He joins from Swiss Re with over fifteen years insurance and reinsurance experience.
While at Swiss Re Samà served as Head Financial Lines Underwriting US.
He will now report to Christopher Larson, the company’s Head of Global Casualty.
“Sal is a great addition to the business. He will work alongside the QBE Re team in New York to further develop our product offering in the market,” said Larson.
“This new hire marks a notable expansion for the FINPRO specialty in the US.”
