QBE Re, the reinsurance arm of QBE Insurance Group, has appointed Ashish Ahluwalia as its new Global Head of Performance and Portfolio Analytics.
In this new role, Ahluwalia will act as a strategic advisor to support portfolio construction and capital deployment.
Ahluwalia has previously worked with QBE’s actuarial team, as the Head of Reserving, European Operations.
Previously, Ahluwalia served as a Principal of Finity Consulting at Defin’d, and was part of the firm’s leadership team for over five years.
Before that, he served as a Senior Consultant at Finity Consulting for over six years, where he managed and took day-to-day responsibility for client projects across the health insurance and general insurance industries.
He has experience working with different insurers in Australia and New Zealand, and has worked in reserving for short-tail and long-tail insurance, capital management planning, valuation advice for mergers & acquisitions, claim outcomes analytics, pricing for private health insurers and CTP schemes, reinsurance modelling, and preparing financial condition reports.
Ahluwalia has also worked as an analytics-driven management consultant for numerous years and has hands-on experience using advanced analytics techniques to deliver commercial strategies and outcomes for clients.
He has also served as an Engagement Manager at Oliver Wyman and started his career as a Summer Analyst at the Macquarie Group.
