The Reinsurance Association of America (RAA) has announced the appointment of Nicole Austin as Senior Vice President (SVP), Federal Affairs.
Austin has held a number of senior and executive positions across the insurance and reinsurance industry, including Vice President, Federal Government Relations at the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI); a policy advisor at the Office of the Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program at the U.S. Department of the Treasury; and also staff director, House Financial Services Insurance, Housing and Community Opportunity Subcommittee.
In addition to the above she has held a number of other positions in the U.S. House of Representatives, which includes instrumental work on insurance legislation, such as the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012, and the the Dodd-Frank Act.
Commenting on the appointment, President of the RAA, Frank Nutter, said; “We are pleased to welcome Nicole to our staff. With over fifteen years of experience in federal activity, she brings a wealth of legislative and lobbying expertise and success to her new position and will hit the ground running as we work to influence public policy affecting the property/casualty industry in the 115th Congress.”
