Rachel Conran named permanent CEO of RSA Luxembourg

Multinational insurance group RSA has announced that Rachel Conran has been appointed as the new permanent Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of RSA Luxembourg, the firm’s hub for European business.

RSACurrently, Conran serves as interim CEO, having joined RSA earlier in the year as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for global risks solutions.

Her appointment, which remains subject to regulatory approval, follows the merger of the company’s commercial risk solutions and global risk solutions businesses to create a single business unit, called RSA Commercial Lines.

Conran will report to UK & International CEO Scott Egan and will also become a member of the UK&I executive committee. In her new role, Conran and her team will focus on European risks while the new RSA Commercial Lines unit will focus on UK broker and London market risks.

Conran has previously served as CUO and CEO of SCOR’s Global Insurance Business, and also as CUO and global head of property at Allianz Global Corporate and Speciality, a division of insurer Allianz.

“I’m delighted to be taking on the role of RSA Luxembourg CEO on a permanent basis. I’ve had the chance to get the lie of the land and learn about the business over the past two months and I am relishing the challenge ahead,” said Conran.

RSA’s Luxembourg office was established in September 2018, and serves both European Union-based customers and UK customers with European interests.

Egan commented: “As we continue to shape our UK and International business, I’m delighted to have Rachel leading our European team on a permanent basis. Rachel brings strong leadership experience and underwriting skills and, under her stewardship, we can go from strength to strength on the continent.”
