SCOR & Paris School of Economics create Macroeconomic Risk research chair

SCOR’s Corporate Foundation for Science has worked with the Paris School of Economics (PSE) in the creation of a research chair on Macroeconomic Risk.

SCOR Corporate Foundation for ScienceThe SCOR-PSE announcement is a commitment to better understand and develop macroeconomic risk research by the France-headquartered reinsurer.

French economist and governmental advisor Gilles Saint-Paul will provide scientific leadership, with PSE Professor Nicolas Dromel providing executive leadership.

Additional work of the SCOR-PSE chair includes developing and promoting scientific articles to be submitted for publication in journals, creating workshops and roundtables between SCOR and PSE members, inviting scholars to participate in teaching/research programs and awarding an annual prize to a young researcher for excellence in his or her work.

The inaugural conference of the SCOR-PSE Chair on Macroeconomic Risk will take place on June 15, at the PSE.

Chairman of the SCOR Corporate Foundation for Science, André Levy-Lang, commented, “Since the beginning of the financial crisis, macroeconomic risk has become one of the major risks facing the re/insurance industry.”
