The Board of Directors of global insurer and reinsurer, Sirius International Insurance Group, Ltd., has confirmed the appointment of Meyer Frucher as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board.
Back in February 2019, during the announcement that Kernan Oberting was to succeed Allan Waters as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sirius Group, the firm announced Frucher as Interim Non-Executive Chairman of its Board of Directors.
Frucher is currently the Vice Chairman of Nasdaq, Inc., a role which he is retiring from at the start of next year and will transition to the role of Strategic Advisor.
Commenting on the appointment, Oberting said: “I am pleased that Sandy has been confirmed as Non-Executive Chairman for the benefit of Sirius Group.
“Our majority independent Board and key governance protections embedded in our shareholders agreement continue to help insulate Sirius Group from issues related to our largest shareholder.”
Frucher added: “Sirius Group’s strength resides in our people and global platform to position the Company to grow and achieve its full potential.”
