SiriusPoint has invested an undisclosed amount in MGA platform Samos Insurance.

siriuspoint-logoThe announcement, made through a press statement, said SiriusPoint had invested in the risk management and accidental death insurance specialist due to a gap it felt the firm had identified in the market.

Tom Leonardo, US head of accident and health at SiriusPoint, said: “Samos is responding to a gap in the Accident & Health market which urgently needs addressing. The company offers a tech-based insurance and risk management product that deals with a real problem faced by many people going into hospital.”

The policies will be distributed through urgent care and hospitals in Canada and the US for the accident-based product, and the insurance will cover those in care from admission to discharge.

This is not the only investment that SiriusPoint had made in recent weeks. In mid-May, the company said it was going into partnership with Avinew to invest in smart car technology. It also announced a partnership with Broker Buddha to help simplify submissions. That partnership comes after SiriusPoint led the $5m investment round that will enable Broker Buddha to increase sales capacity, enhance the product, develop new offerings, and accelerate the company into a new phase of growth and expansion.
