Skuld, the Oslo-based marine insurer, has announced the appointment of Hilde Søbstad Løvskar as Chief Legal Officer.

Most recently, Løvskar served as Corporate Legal Counsel at Skuld. In this role she was also the company secretary and worked closely with management and Skuld’s board.

She joined Skuld as an intern in June 2009 before becoming a maritime trainee and participating in the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association’s trainee programme.

Ståle Hansen, President and CEO at Skuld, commented on the appointment: “I am very pleased to announce the new chief legal officer position, and under Hilde’s leadership our corporate legal department will continue to build on their excellent legal services to support Skuld’s strategy of innovation, diversification and sustainable growth.”

“I am proud to be given the opportunity to lead Skuld’s corporate legal team,” Løvskar added.

“In my previous roles in Skuld I have been close to Skuld’s operations, and I look forward to continue contributing in providing the competence and service that our members and clients rely on.”

Skuld announced earlier this month that it plans to cease underwriting business from its Lloyd’s Syndicate 1897 from 1 July 2019 in an effort to improve profitability.
