Sompo Asia Pacific (Sompo APAC), part of Sompo International Holdings Ltd., has announced the appointment of Daniel Lukas as Senior Vice President, Head of Personal Lines, Asia Pacific, effective 17th April 2026.
Based in Singapore, Lukas will join the APAC Consumer Leadership team and report to Bill Zhang, President of Sompo APAC Consumer Lines.
In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the regional Personal Lines strategy and execution to drive scale, profitability, and sustainable growth.
Lukas brings more than 18 years of actuarial and underwriting experience across global consultancies and insurance companies in Singapore and the UK.
He joins Sompo APAC after 11 years at Chubb, where he held a number of senior leadership roles, most recently as Chief Underwriting Officer – SME, Asia. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Accenture, Aviva, and esure.
In a recent LinkedIn post, Sompo APAC said, “With his extensive regional knowledge and technical expertise, Daniel will strengthen the capabilities in Personal Lines underwriting excellence, product innovation and service development, distribution expansion and marketing, to enhance and localise Sompo’s Personal Lines value propositions, while ensuring regional alignment.”
