Sompo International, a provider of commercial and consumer property and casualty re/insurance, has hired Angela Weiss as Head of Property & Energy Insurance for Continental Europe.
Her appointment is effective from September 1, 2023.
In the role, Weiss will be based in Zurich, where she will report to Ralph Brand, President Continental Europe Insurance.
Weiss joins Sompo International from Zurich Insurance where she served as Head of Underwriting Property, Engineering Lines and Marine for Switzerland and international Austrian business.
She has also previously served in a variety of leadership and underwriting roles in Property, Energy, Engineering Lines, Marine and Risk Engineering at Zurich Germany, AXA and FM Insurance.
