Sompo Intl. reorganises insurance business for future growth

Property and Casualty (P&C) re/insurer, Sompo International Holdings Ltd., has revealed some changes to its insurance operation “to best prepare the business for expansion and sustainable growth.”

Sompo InternationalThe strategic reorganisation is designed to ensure a consistent market approach and improve the ease of doing business globally with Sompo.

Effective April 4th, 2022, Sompo Intl. has made a number of changes to better support its insurance business through the next phase of growth.

This includes the appointment of Michael Chang as Global Head of Customer and Distribution Management, where he will be tasked with expanding the firm’s strong customer focus and global key relationships. He will report to James Shea, CEO, Sompo Intl.

At the same time, Julian James takes on oversight of the newly named EMEA Region in addition to commercial P&C oversight in both Asia and Latin America. He will continue to report to Chris Gallagher.

Additionally, Daniel Neo will lead the firm’s Asia Pacific Region for all P&C commercial and consumer insurance in the region, reporting to Shea.

Finally, Chris Sparro has been appointed to oversee the re/insurer’s newly launched North America Region, which includes all P&C insurance in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Bermuda. He will continue to report to Gallagher.
