Sompo, a global provider of commercial and consumer property, casualty, and specialty re/insurance, has announced the appointment of Elliot Paul as Head of Marine Cargo, London, UK.
Paul brings more than 15 years of marine expertise to Sompo, including most recently serving as Head of Cargo & Marine Liability at CNA Hardy’s Lloyd’s Syndicate.
Prior to that, he held roles including Senior Cargo Underwriter and Class Manager, Lloyd’s Cargo at CNA Hardy.
Previously, Paul spent nearly 11 years at QBE Europe, where he most recently served as Underwriter – Multinational Cargo.
He began his career at RSA, starting as a Commercial Claims Handler before progressing to Underwriting Assistant.
In a recent LinkedIn post, Sompo said, “He joins our Marine team in the UK at a very exciting time, as we are building a versatile team of experts to serve clients and brokers across a diverse range of marine risk.”
