Specialty MGA UK, a recently formed MGA focused on providing additional capacity for specialty lines of businesses, has acquired commercial forest and plantation specialist, ForestRe.
ForestRe Managing Director, Phil Cottle and his team are global leaders in specialist services for commercial forests and plantations and provide insurance services for clients, including independent forestry owners, commercial forest enterprises, timber merchants and saw log producers.
For three decades Cottle has been a leader in forestry and crop risk insurance, and is a recognised global expert on plantation management.
With the team in place, Specialty MGA UK is one of several firms that specifically provides services in the forestry sector. The firms portfolio extends to 30 countries, that includes Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia, Southern Africa, Latin America and many US states.

By joining Specialty MGA UK, Cottle is re-joining a team that includes Daniel Longden, who has worked in forestry underwriting since 2015 and manages the daily operations of the business as well as developing relationships with producing brokers globally.
Additionally, Longden works alongside Yuming Zhi, who has revolutionised the risk data modelling and rating procedures.
