StarStone launches crisis management team with Argo & Antares hires

International specialty insurance firm StarStone has launched a new crisis management team, thanks to the hire of three experienced underwriters from Argo and Antares.

The newly-formed crisis management division will sit alongside and strengthen StarStone’s war and terrorism underwriting platform, offering war and terrorism re/insurance and credit and political risks insurance.

James Hannan has been hired from Antares Managing Agency and becomes head of War and Terrorism at StarStone. At Antares he served as class underwriter, terrorism and political violence, prior to which he worked for Travelers Syndicate 5000 as deputy class underwriter, terrorism.

Andrew Summers has been hired as a senior political risk underwriter, coming from ArgoGlobal where he worked as a credit and political risks underwriter. Before that, Summers worked for AIG Europe as a political risk underwriter.

Amy Henry joins StarStone as a war and terrorism underwriter from Antares Managing Agency where she worked as a deputy terrorism underwriter.

StarStone said that the trio of appointments will enhance its war and terrorism team, which is led by Simon Low, group head of political risks & crisis management.
