Australian insurer Suncorp Group has announced a number of changes to its executive leadership team, including the appointment of Bridget Messer as Chief Executive Customer, Brand and Digital, a newly created role.
Currently serving as Chief Risk Officer, Messer’s new position unites the existing brand, marketing, and digital distribution teams.
The role was created to ensure Suncorp capitalises on the competitive advantage provided by its suite of market-leading brands, as well as to realise the opportunities AI offers for the faster and more efficient distribution of insurance products and services.
Lisa Harrison, who currently serves as Chief Executive of Consumer Insurance, will move across to lead the Commercial & Personal Injury portfolios. She will retain accountability for the rollout of Suncorp’s Digital Insurer program.
Additionally, Michael Mille was appointed Chief Executive for Consumer Insurance, shifting away from his current position as Chief Executive Commercial & Personal Injury.
As a result of these changes, Michelle Bain, currently Executive General Manager of Compulsory Third Party Insurance will join the Executive Leadership Team as Suncorp’s Chief Risk Officer.
Bainhas held a range of senior leadership roles across Suncorp, including Acting Group General Counsel, Executive General Manager Compliance, and Group Customer Advocate.
The changes will be effective on August 17, subject to relevant regulatory approvals.
Suncorp CEO, Steve Johnston, commented: “As Suncorp moves through its platform modernisation and operational transformation agendas, the focus will move to leveraging these investments to create more contemporary products, deliver more personalised customer experiences, increase seamless digital self-service and use AI at scale to transform customer and claims processes.”
