Martyn Sutton has joined global reinsurer Swiss Re as Head of Sales & Origination P&C Reinsurance Solutions (Americas).
The news of Sutton’s appointment comes after Swiss Re announced that, from April 3rd, its reinsurance division was to be split into Property & Casualty Reinsurance (P&C Re) and Life & Health Reinsurance (L&H Re), as the company moves to “streamline its organisational structure.”
With the move, Swiss Re says it can “simplify structures, improve efficiency and client experience,” while also giving the P&C and Life and Health reinsurance sides their own control over underwriting and claims management processes.
Sutton brings over two decades of industry experience to his new role. He joins Swiss Re after having served for over five years as Vice President – Head of US at AdvantageGo, a commercial re/insurance management solutions.
Prior to that, he was the Chief Sales Officer for SpatialKey, now part of Insurity, for over the years; and Chief Sales Officer for Innovation Group North America before that.
Sutton was also Senior Vice President, Global Sales at Exigen Insurance Solutions for close to two years; and Senior Vice President at BenchStrength International. He also held the role of US Country Manager & Global Head of Sales at Xchanging and President (US) of RebusIS Ltd.
Swiss Re has also recently appointed Ali Shahkarami as Global Head of P&C Solutions, and Santiago Arechaga as Head P&C Southern Europe, a new position he will hold alongside his role as CEO Iberia.
