Global reinsurer Swiss Re has appointed Hazel Etherington as Head of Underwriting, Life & Health, for Hong Kong & Taiwan and Global High Net Worth.
Etherington brings nearly 40 years of experience in the life and health insurance industry, with leadership roles spanning underwriting, operations, claims, distribution, and business transformation across multiple international markets.
In her new role, she will support Swiss Re and its clients in the growth and development of High Net Worth business and broader underwriting development initiatives.
Etherington returns to Swiss Re after spending over two decades at the firm from 1988 to 2010.
Most recently, she served as Retail Operations & Underwriting Director at Just Group.
Prior to that, Etherington was President at Transamerica Life Bermuda and has also held roles at AIA and Now Health International.
