Monica Ningen has been appointed as President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Swiss Re Canada & English Caribbean, effective July 1 2018.
The appointment will see her occupy the Toronto-based position following 12 years of distinguished service at the re/insurer.
Ningen succeeds Veronica Scotti, who occupied the position for over 3 years, and who now becomes Chairperson of Global Partnerships at Swiss Re after nearly two decades at the firm.
With over 20 years’ experiences in the re/insurance industry, Ningen started her career at reinsurance broker E.W. Blanch as a Catastrophe Risk Analyst before joining Swiss Re in 2006.
She has since held several leadership roles in Property Underwriting, most recently as Head of Property Underwriting U.S. & Canada.
President and CEO, Swiss Re Americas, J.Eric Smith, said, “Monica’s business experience and strong leadership skills will be a key asset in helping Swiss Re to grow our business and client relationships in Canada and the English Caribbean.
