Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, a division of the global reinsurer, has announced the appointment of Jack See as Head of Malaysia and Principal Officer of its operations in Malaysia, effective immediately.
See, who will relocate from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, takes over from Juerg Stoll, who is set to retire on January 31st, 2022.
In his new role, See takes on responsibility for managing operations and driving success and overall profitability. He assumes oversight of a well-established, local team of sales and underwriting specialists servicing large and upper mid-sized Malaysian businesses.
Didier Bélot, Head of Southeast Asia at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, commented: “Malaysia is an important market for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, and we are pleased to be able to promote a proven leader like Jack to this critical role for our company.
“Jack is deeply familiar with the insurance landscape in Malaysia, having held several roles at Swiss Re since joining the company in 2015. His extensive network coupled with his industry and local market knowledge makes him the perfect choice to lead our ongoing growth and momentum in the market. Jack will continue to drive sustainable growth while delivering strategic business propositions and partnerships to better serve our Malaysian clients.”
See joined Swiss Re CorSo as a Senior Underwriter and currently serves as Head of Casualty & Finpro Southeast Asia, a role he will maintain in addition to his new responsibilities. During his time with the company, See has played a key role in repositioning the business portfolio and transforming underwriting approaches to meet market requirements.
Bélot added: “I would also like to extend our sincere gratitude and thanks to Juerg for his contributions in establishing a strong local team in Malaysia and wish him all the very best in his future endeavors. Juerg has been instrumental in opening the Labuan branch in Malaysia.
“As Head of Malaysia and Principal Officer, he successfully established a dedicated and high-performing team servicing Malaysian corporates through collaboration with our partners. Juerg will be missed especially in Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region.”
