Sylvain Jarrier has been appointed to the role of Group Chief Underwriter Officer at Bermuda-based reinsurer PartnerRe.
He brings more than 15 years of senior management experience towards his new role.
Jarrier has been with PartnerRe for two decades, having joined the firm in 2003 as a Property & Casualty Pricing Actuary. After serving in that role for just over one year, he was then appointed to the role of Motor & Casualty Senior Underwriter.
Throughout his tenure at PartnerRe, Jarrier has also held several other roles, including Head Pricing & Analytics – Europe, MEAR & APAC, and Head Worldwide Pricing & Analytics.
Before he joined PartnerRe, Jarrier served as a Pricing Actuary at global reinsurer SCOR.
In other related news, PartnerRe posted a net loss of $1.1 billion for the full year 2022. The company cited unrealized losses on fixed maturities and short-term investments of $1.8 billion as a key driver.
PartnerRe also recently appointed Reinsurance Group of America’s Chris Noyes as a Client Partner on its US Life & Health team.
