International re/insurance brokerage Marsh has appointed Michael Tarling as Senior Adviser within the Aviation Practice of Marsh JLT Specialty.
Tarling previously worked for Marsh between 2005 and 2011, and rejoins the broker in what’s a newly-created position that will see him deliver senior client engagement and risk advisory services to Marsh JLT Specialty’s aviation clients across the world.
In his new role he will be based in Chicago and report to Garrett Hanrahan, U.S. Aviation Practice Leader, Marsh JLT Specialty.
Tarling has worked in the insurance sector for more than 40 years, and has a specialist focus on aviation and aerospace insurance, risk management, and claims.
He most recently served as Assistant Treasurer, Risk Management and Insurance at The Boeing Company, a role he held for the past eight years.
Hanrahan commented: “The global aviation industry is experiencing a significant period of change, driven by the need for greater operating efficiencies, environmental sustainability, and the emergence of new markets.
