Hedge fund-backed reinsurer, Third Point Re has appointed both David Drury and Steven Wilson to the role of Senior Vice President, Underwriting.
“We are very excited to have David and Steven join the Company as they bring proven track records and significant underwriting experience to the team,” said Robert Bredahl, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Third Point Re.
Drury joins from Chubb where he served in various senior roles for over 15 years. He was most recently Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of Chubb Tempest Re Group, Chubb’s worldwide reinsurance operations.
His prior roles at Chubb included Division President, Chubb Tempest Re Bermuda; Chief Risk Officer, Chubb Tempest Re Group; and Chief Underwriting Officer, ACE Financial Solutions.
Wilson was most recently Munich Re America’s Head of Financial and Professional Lines, where he managed the Professional Liability and Credit/Surety/Political Risk underwriting departments.
Prior to that, Wilson served across various senior underwriting and actuarial roles at Munich Re America, covering a range of casualty business including Medical Malpractice, Umbrella and Workers’ Compensation.
Bredahl continued, “Their expertise, analytical skill and commercial approach will be valuable, particularly as we continue to focus on the contribution made to our profitability through our underwriting by broadening our risk portfolio.”
