The Toa Reinsurance Company, Limited (Toa Re), a Japanese reinsurance group, has announced a series of leadership changes across its Japan and Singapore branches, including the appointment of Ryo Yokochi as Chief Executive Officer of its Singapore Branch, effective 26th June 2026.
Yokochi succeeds Shiko Misono, the current Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Branch, who will move into the position of General Manager of the International Dept. Yokochi’s current role is Manager of Team 1 of NonLife Underwriting & Planning Dept. 2.
Toa Re has announced changes in Managing Director and Director roles, effective 26th June 2026, including the appointment of Masahiro Yamada, current Director and General Manager of Non-Life Underwriting & Planning Dept. 1, as Managing Director.
Mitsuru Ichiji, current General Manager of Life Underwriting Dept., has been named Director and General Manager of the Life Underwriting Dept.
Hironobu Kawahara, current General Manager of Communication & Coordination Dept. and Senior Manager of the Management Planning Dept., has been appointed Director and General Manager of the Communication & Coordination Dept. and Senior Manager of the Management Planning Dept.
Newly appointed Shingo Kawaguchi will serve as Outside Director.
Hironori Ashikawa (Managing Director), Kozo Nakamura (Director), and Yasunobu Fukuda (Outside Director) will all retire from their roles.
In addition, Toa Re announced the appointment of General Managers, including Tomoyasu Ohta, current Manager of Marine Hull & Cargo Team, Reinsurance Pool Dept., who has been named General Manager of Internal Audit Dept.
Tetsuji Maruyama, Senior Manager and Manager of Team 1, Communication & Coordination Dept., will serve as General Manager of the Compliance Dept.
Aya Fujita, current Senior Manager, Business Development Dept., has been named General Manager of the Digital Transformation Dept.
Masayuki Matsumoto, General Manager of the International Dept., has been appointed General Manager of Non-Life Underwriting & Planning Dept. 1.
Yoshimitsu Mizui, General Manager of the Internal Audit Dept., will serve as General Manager of Strategic Business Development Dept.
Toa Re also announced organisational changes, including the establishment of a Strategic Business Development Dept. and the renaming of the Business Development Dept. to the Digital Transformation Dept.
