TransRe appoints Aspen’s Mollinier as President of EMEA

TransRe, a reinsurance company wholly owned by Alleghany Corporation, has appointed Julien Mollinier as President of EMEA to further expand its Continental European business.

In the role, Mollinier will be based in Zurich and will oversee all TransRe Europe’s underwriting and business development activities. He will also work closely with the firm’s Europe Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), Pete Clements, as well as Trans Re’s Zurich, Paris and Munich offices.

Overall, he brings more than 19 years of industry experience towards the role.

For the past 14 years, Mollinier has worked at Aspen, where he has held a variety of different roles. He joined the firm in 2009 as a credit and surety underwriter, before later being promoted to senior underwriter in 2012.

In 2017 he was then named Head of Property Europe and would serve in this role for more than two years, before being promoted to Head of EMEA & Latin America in 2019.

Prior to joining Aspen, Mollinier spent just under four years working as a credit and surety underwriter at XL Re.

Before that, Mollinier served as a Credit Analyst at Groupama for just under two years.
