Reinsurer TransRe, which is wholly owned by Alleghany Corporation, has appointed Jim Crutchley to the newly created role of Global Facultative Leader, reporting to Paul McKeon, President, Regional Business Units.
Crutchley first joined the firm in 2015 to establish and lead the US Facultative Casualty team. Since its inception, the team has “consistently and profitably” expanded its book.
In his new role, Crutchley takes on responsibility for the strategic direction of the company’s global book of facultative business.
He will work with TransRe’s regional fac teams and international product leaders to both identify and execute market opportunities, while at the same time streamline workflows, and accelerate data and analytics around changes in the market and claims trends.
In light of Crutchley’s promotion, TransRe has named Stephanie Danbrowney as the new Head of US Facultative Casualty.
She joined the company in 2018, and has since successfully grown the US fac book of business and built a strong market reputation.
