Hedge-fund backed reinsurer Third Point Reinsurance Ltd. (Third Point Re) has named David Sinclair as Senior Vice President (SVP), Marketing and Investments, effective September 2nd, 2019.
Sinclair joins the firm from Transatlantic Re (TransRe), and his appointment is part of Third Point Re’s strategy to expand and strengthen its presence in the Specialty Reinsurance sector.
He will be based in London and will report to Clare Himmer, Marketing Director, and will work in collaboration with Himmer and the Bermuda Specialty Team to develop further opportunities in this area.
Sinclair will also work closely with David Govrin, President of Third Point Re USA Ltd., in order to explore investment opportunities for the firm as it looks to leverage both its underwriting and capital markets expertise.
Joining from TransRe, Sinclair brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the role, most recently serving as Head of Capital Solutions at TransRe. In this role, he was responsible for marketing and sourcing underwriting opportunities to offer capital through investment and for reinsurance capacity.
