US-based P&C insurer, UFG Insurance has appointed Rick Tjarks as Reinsurance Underwriter to work with brokers and cedents across the US.
A highly skilled veteran within the industry, Tjarks brings 33 years of reinsurance experience towards his new role.
Most recently, he served as a reinsurance account underwriter at EMC Re.
Prior to that role, Tjarks spent 30 years working at Grinnell Re – the reinsurance division of Grinnell Mutual – where he served as the firms Assistant Vice President.
“UFG’s reinsurance treaty business operations continue to expand and we are thrilled to offer new capacity to the market when it is greatly needed,” explains UFG Vice President and Chief Risk Officer Micah Woolstenhulme, who leads the company’s assumed reinsurance efforts.
Addressing Tjarks appointment, Woolstenhulme added: “Rick joins a skilled underwriting team at UFG that offers long-term partnership opportunities to our clients. We look forward to his involvement in both new and existing business relationships.”
Earlier this month, UFG Insurance also hired Jennifer Baron as Reinsurance Underwriter.
