UnipolRe promotes John Scully to CUO

Ireland-based reinsurer UnipolRe, owned by Italian financial services group UnipolSai Assicurazioni, has appointed John Scully as its new Chief Underwriting Officer.

handshakeScully has been promoted from his role as a Senior Underwriter in the business.

He joined UnipolRe in October 2019 as an Underwriter and previously worked for TransRe as an Underwriter in their Treaty Non Marine team.

Scully replaces Simon Wigzell, who is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities outside the reinsurance industry.

Marc Guy Victor Sordoni, the Chief Executive Officer of UnipolRe, said: “I am delighted to appoint John as our new Chief Underwriting Officer. I have worked with him for almost two years now and been very impressed by his hard work and dedication as well as his fresh ideas and energy.
