W. R. Berkley appoints Scott Barraclough CEO of public entity unit

Re/insurance holding company W. R. Berkley Corporation has announced the appointment of Scott Barraclough as Chief Executive Officer of Berkley Public Entity (BPE), a Berkley Company.

Scott BarracloughCurtis Fletcher succeeds Barraclough in his previous role as President of the Berkley company Admiral Insurance. The appointments are effective immediately.

Barraclough joined the company in 1996 and has held various financial and operational positions throughout his 20-plus year career with Admiral.

Meanwhile, Fletcher joined Admiral In in 1998 and most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer.

He has over 30 years’ experience in the property and casualty insurance industry and expertise in both excess and surplus lines and reinsurance underwriting and management.

“Scott has a wealth of experience both in the industry and at Berkley that will complement the knowledge and skill set of BPE’s president, Rich Vincelette, and bring considerable value to Berkley Public Entity,” said W. Robert Berkley, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of W. R. Berkley Corporation.

“Along with his team, Rich has developed BPE into a leading provider of insurance for our governmental clients in a relatively short time. With Scott focused on building the ongoing strategy of the business, Rich will be able to increase his focus on serving our target market.”
