Willis Towers Watson appoints Senior Director for Consulting and Technology

Global insurance and reinsurance broker Willis Towers Watson (WTW) has expanded its analytics and digital transformation team with the appointment of Iain Whittingham as a Senior Director in the company’s Insurance Consulting and Technology business.

iain-whittinghamWhittingham joins WTW from FTI Consulting, where he most recently served as Managing Director for Global Insurance Services.

He has 25 years’ experience in senior consulting, re/insurance and industry line management and specialises in advanced analytics, digital transformation, business information, operating model design and cost optimisation programs.

WTW said the appointment of Whittingham, who will be based in Lime Street, London, will support the continued growth of its Insurance Consulting and Technology business.

“The accelerating pace of technological change in the insurance sector presents a significant opportunity to improve risk selection, optimise distribution, automate non-value adding processes and reduce operational costs,” said Stephen Jones, Lead for UK P&C Pricing, Claims, Product and Underwriting at WTW.

“Iain’s experience will add to our bench strength and commitment to unlocking value for our clients through continued investment in our technology platforms and the consulting support required to optimise return on investment,” Jones continued.

The announcement also follows the appointment of Adhiraj Maitra, who recently joined WTW’s P&C Insurance Consulting team from Lloyd’s of London, where he specialised in Solvency II regulations, capital modelling, validation and risk management.

Maitra has more than 10 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s and London markets and has also previously worked as a consultant at KPMG and as a capital actuary at Star Stone/Torus.
