XL Catlin appoints Andrew Coutts as Global Practice Leader for Cargo

XL Catlin has announced the appointment of Andrew Coutts to the position of Global Practice Leader for Cargo. The London-based role will see him responsible for managing its global underwriting team, providing clients and brokers with underwriting and claims service.

XL Catlin LogoCoutts joins from Brit Global Specialty, where he served as Cargo Underwriter for close to a decade. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the marine cargo insurance industry and has held several positions within industry trade bodies, including the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) and the International Underwriting Association (IUA).

Commenting on the appointment, Robert McAdams, XL Catlin’s Chief Underwriting Officer for Global Marine, said, “In this transitioning market, it is essential that we continue to build upon the high standards and consistent level of service our clients have come to expect from us.

“I am delighted to bring Andrew on board; his strong leadership and understanding of the market is exactly what we need to steer strategy for our Cargo team globally.”
