Zurich-based Assithèque announces new co-owner

Zurich-based ‘Insurance Boutique’ Assithèque, a provider of insurance services and solutions to life and non-life re/insurance companies, MGAs/MGUs, TPAs, captives and intermediaries, has announced that Eugen Balogh has replaced David Swanepoel as co-owner, as of January 1st, 2023.

Balogh acquired Swanepoel’s entire share participation in Assithèque following the latter’s departure at the end of December. He is an industry veteran, having held long tenures in a variety of positions at leading re/insurance firms.

Balogh began his career at Winterthur Re, where he served for over a decade, chiefly as senior underwriter in casualty.

In 1999, he joined PartnerRe, where he served for almost ten years as senior manager of casualty and motor underwriting.

In 2008, he was appointed Head of underwriting / Lead underwriter liability, at New Reinsurance Company, serving there for seven years. IN 2017, he joined AXA as Head of Claims.

He aligns with the Insurance Boutique after spending two years working as a private reinsurance and casualty specialist.

Commenting on his new position, Balogh said, “To deploy my skills, capabilities and experience in the insurance and reinsurance world is my defined target.

“With Assithèque, I found the ideal platform and I am looking forward the facing the challenges ahead.”

As co-owner of the insurance boutique, Eugen will actively support Michel Ruggaber, founder of Assithèque, in the day-to-day business and in the further development of the company.

Ruggaber said, “I am looking forward to working with Eugen, who I met 30 years ago. I am convinced that the new team will successfully develop the insurance boutique.

“My thanks go to David for his support during the last 8 years and I wish him all the best going forward.”
