Active Re appoints top execs to global credit & surety team

Active Re, a provider of reinsurance solutions for financial institutions, has announced additions to its Credit & Surety team, naming Erik Feigelson Johansson, as Head of Global Credit & Surety Underwriting and Nathalie Gordon, as Senior Underwriter – Credit & Surety.

Ramon Martinez Carrera, the CEO of Active Re, made the announcement, stating that the new executives will bolster the existing underwriting resources of the firm.

Carrera suggested that they will work alongside fellow underwriter Javier Ernesto Jácome de la Guardia, who joined Active Re in October 2022, to execute the firm’s plans to ensure the overall sustainable growth and success of the Credit & Surety portfolio.

Erik Feigelson Johansson holds more than three and a half decades of experience in the insurance and reinsurance markets and is highly specialised in Credit Insurance & Surety Bonds.

Most recently, Johansson served as Senior Consultant Re/insurance / Surety & Credit / Underwriting & Claims Audits / Education, at Strada-Conseil, where he served for over five years. Before this, he serving as Latin America Surety Regional Manager at RSA.

Active Re states that Johansson’s multinational expertise will strengthen the firm’s underwriting strategy and performance in Trade Credit Insurance & Surety Bonds.

In the new role, he will lead and oversee the company’s strategy and underwriting of various product lines of business, reporting directly to the firm’s CEO, Carrera.

Johansson holds a Master of Business Administration from the HEC Business School-Paris, and a Master’s degree in Economical & Social Administration from Paris X Nanterre University.

Meanwhile, Active Re says that new Senior Underwriter, Nathalie Gordon, has the experience and knowledge to enhance the underwriting team’s sales across various regions.

Gordon most recently served as a Senior Business Underwriter for MGA portfolios at Accelerant Holdings. Before this, she served as Divisional Executive Director (UK & Germany) at AFL Insurance Brokers.

In addition, Gordon has also worked at Munich Re, chiefly as a client reinsurance treaty underwriter for the Latin America region.

In her new role at Active Re, she will oversee the management and strategy of the credit and surety lines of business, reporting directly to the firm’s Head of Global Credit & Surety Underwriting.

Gordon also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Paris, a Postgraduate in Financial Statement Analysis from CEF Madrid, and a Master’s degree in International Business Management from the University of Barcelona.
