Aon plc, a global professional services firm providing risk, retirement and health solutions, has announced an expansion of Vlad Bobko’s leadership responsibilities.
Bobko will take on the role of Global Head of Strategy for Political Risk, War Risk and Crisis Management within Risk Capital, while continuing his position as CEO of Central and Eastern Europe and Nordics, effective immediately.
He will continue reporting to Kai-Frank Buechter, Co-CEO of EMEA, in his regional leadership role, while reporting to Joe Peiser, CEO of Risk Capital, for his global strategy responsibilities.
According to Aon, the expanded role combines regional leadership experience with specialist risk expertise as organisations continue to face challenges linked to geopolitical uncertainty, supply chain disruption and security risks. Bobko will support the development of integrated Risk Capital capabilities for clients operating across international markets.
“Political risk, war risk and crisis management are increasingly important considerations for organisations operating in a complex and interconnected world,” added Peiser. “Vlad brings extensive experience advising clients on these challenges, along with a deep understanding of international risk markets. His expertise will help shape our strategic approach as we continue helping clients navigate evolving risks and opportunities.”
Bobko joined the firm in 2004 as country manager for Ukraine and has since held a range of leadership positions across Central and Eastern Europe. Since 2010, he has served in regional roles, initially as Chief Broking Officer and later as CEO. Since 2013, Aon added that Bobko has also led Crisis Management activities at Aon Global Broking Center in London, including oversight of structured credit and political risk teams.
The company said Bobko’s experience covers both retail and reinsurance markets, where he has worked with large local and multinational organisations on complex and specialist risk solutions.
“Vlad has played a significant role in the development of our business across Central and Eastern Europe over many years. He brings deep market expertise, a strong understanding of client needs and a proven ability to lead across diverse markets,” said Buechter. “As he expands his responsibilities, he is well positioned to build on that success and advance how we serve clients across markets.”
