Apollo has appointed Kate Foster as its new head of property for Syndicate 1969.
Foster is moving over from Beazley, where she has been a property underwriter at the firm since 2017. Prior to this, she has held various senior underwriting roles in the property sphere at companies including Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance and Vero. She began her career in 2000 at Hiscox.
James Slaughter, CUO of Apollo Group, said: “Property is a key part of Apollo’s offering. Kate brings extensive knowledge to the role, as we continue to generate creative and innovative solutions whilst growing our property book, working toward a resilient and sustainable future.
He added: “We continue to focus on developing our D&F and Binders portfolios, both of which remain fundamental to Apollo’s offering. The team remains committed to the relationships we have built with our brokers and partners, and we look forward to welcoming Kate to our team.”
Apollo has made a number of appointments in recent months. In January, the firm said it was appointing Martin Jackson to be its new head of aviation. This was followed by appointments in May and June of Susan Pateras and Stuart Davies to the respective roles of independent non-executive chair of its Bermudan subsidiary and non-executive director.
