Law firm ArentFox Schiff has added Partner, Huhnsik Chung to the company’s Complex Litigation and Insurance & Reinsurance groups.
Based in the firms New York office, Huhnsik brings more than three decades of experience advising clients nationally and internationally in the highly regulated financial and insurance sectors.
Huhnsik represents clients within a widened range of regulatory and transactional matters, while at the same time, also resolving complex disputes that arise in the insurance industry.
He advises on insurance-related matters involving formations and capitalizations, M&A, portfolio transfers, ILS, investments, commutation agreements, and restructurings and receiverships.
In addition, Huhnsik also advises on risk mitigation and exposures arising from transactions and investments, global licensing issues, tax matters, and representations and warranties policies on both the buy and sell side.
In a press release, it states that within his dispute resolution practice, Huhnsik has served as lead counsel in more than 70 insurance, reinsurance, and commercial proceedings.
His clients include insurers, reinsurers, captives, insurance intermediaries, insurance technology companies, risk purchasing groups, risk retention groups, and investors.
Furthermore, Huhnsik also has deep experience in the energy sector representing oil/gas and utilities industry mutuals and captives. He also focuses on the blockchain and digital asset development space, where he represents accelerators, exchanges, sponsors, investors, developers and banks, primarily in Asia and Bermuda.
Huhnsik joins ArentFox Schiff from Carlton Fields, PC, where he was a shareholder and served as co-chair of the firm’s Fintech and P&C Insurance Regulatory and Transactional Practice and the Blockchain and Digital Currency Practice.
Moreover, he is also active in a number of professional organizations, including serving as a board member of the Asian American Law Fund of New York, and as secretary and board member of the Insurance Federation of New York.
