ArgoGlobal, the Lloyd’s insurer and member of Argo Group, has announced the appointment of Zachary Tan as Accident and Health (A&H) Underwriter, effective immediately.
He will focus on business in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions, and will report to Michael Scala, Chief Underwriting Officer for Asia Pacific at ArgoGlobal.
Tan arrives at ArgoGlobal from Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK), where he has served as an A&H Underwriter since 2014.
He has nearly 20 years’ experience in the re/insurance industry, having started his career as a business development manager at ACE in 2000.
In 2002, Tan joined Prudential, moving through a number of business development roles before returning to ACE as Head of A&H Brokerage and Underwriting in 2007.
After this, he took up another role in business development as a Senior Manager at NGA Benefits Singapore in 2013, before transitioning to his position at TMK.
“With a strong team in place both at Lloyd’s and in Singapore, ArgoGlobal is determined to further develop a profitable and sustainable A&H portfolio across Asia Pacific and the Middle East,” said Scala.
“Zachary’s proven expertise in the region’s A&H market will support Argo’s long-term, strategic interests,” he added.
