Ascot Group Limited, a global specialty re/insurance company, has established The Ascot Foundation™, a new 501(c)(3) organisation intended to provide a more coordinated structure for the company’s charitable and community-focused activities.

Ascot said the foundation builds on its existing approach to charitable giving and is designed to bring greater focus to its philanthropic work. Its activities will centre on three areas: Health and Wellness, Education, and the Environment.

The company said its employees will continue to play a key role in shaping and supporting its charitable initiatives. Ascot has established three regional committees covering the US, UK and Bermuda, which will help inform corporate giving and encourage community engagement in each region.

Alongside the foundation, Ascot has introduced an employee matching gift programme and is offering in-person volunteering opportunities intended to give colleagues greater opportunities to support causes in their local communities.

To mark Ascot’s 25th anniversary, the company is also undertaking a dedicated giving campaign. As part of the initiative, Ascot will provide grants to 25 nonprofit organisations in communities where the company operates. According to Ascot, the organisations receiving support will be selected in accordance with the foundation’s three areas of focus.

“The launch of The Ascot Foundation is an important milestone in our continued commitment to being a perfect partner for a less-than-perfect world,” commented Bill Thygeson, Ascot Group Chief Human Resources Officer. “As we celebrate 25 years of Ascot, we are proud to create a more unified approach to giving – one that empowers our colleagues and reflects the values that define our culture, The Ascot Way.”

“Ascot has always believed that strong partnerships extend beyond our core business,” added Jonathan Zaffino, Ascot Group CEO and President. “Through The Ascot Foundation, we are creating a more focused and scalable approach to our philanthropy, helping to ensure our support is sustainable, meaningful and aligned with the needs of the global communities where we live and work.”
