London-headquartered MGA Aurous Risk Partners has expanded its operations into the property D&F class with the hire of Will Curtis, while also expanding its energy capacity.

aurous-risk-partners-logoCurtis, who previously was the property underwriter for the Antares Lloyds syndicate, has joined Aurous as a Property Risk Partner.

He has spent the last 10 years growing global market share for various Lloyd’s syndicates.

“We are delighted Will has joined Aurous,” said Aurous CEO Carl Beardmore. “He will complement the Aurous team and ethos and has the experience and relationships needed to build an attractive book of business.”

“I am also pleased that our skills and insights are being recognized and supported by capacity which is looking to work with a partner they can trust to profitably grow market share. Our expansion will continue during this year.”

Curtis also commented: “After working in Lloyds I was looking for a new challenge with a company committed to looking at new, different and better ways to serve the needs of brokers and their clients. Aurous has this vision and I am looking forward to helping them achieve it.”

Animesh Majrekar (Risk Partner – Energy) added: “We are really pleased to increase our pool of capacity, both in terms of linesize and territorial scope. It will enable us to deploy our specialist skills across a wider range of business.”
