AXIS Insurance hires Daniel Stevens as Risk Engineer, Renewable Energy

AXIS Insurance, the insurance arm of Bermuda-based AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, has announced the hiring of Daniel Stevens to the newly created role of Risk Engineer within its Renewable Energy team.

Daniel StevensIn his new role, Stevens will work closely with the firm’s Renewable Energy underwriters and also external parties involved in both the development and management of renewable energy projects. AXIS says that this will enhance its position as a risk partner to clients and a provider of renewable energy risk management expertise.

Stevens will be based in London and will report to Richard Carroll, Global Head of Renewable Energy at AXIS Insurance.

Commenting on the appointment, Carroll said: “Dan brings a wealth of experience and technical risk expertise, that will help us continue to expand the services and insights that we provide to the renewable energy industry.

“We’re pleased to be attracting talent of such calibre, and I look forward to the contributions that Dan will make in further strengthening our standing as a leading global renewable energy insurer.”

Stevens has worked in the renewable energy sector since 2001, across both utilities and consultancies. Previously, he served as Director at the Renewables Consulting Group, where he led the global transaction advisory function and had oversight of all project due diligence work for both private equity and debt transactions.

Prior to Renewables Consulting Group, he was a Resource Asset Manager and Senior Wind Analyst at SSE Renewables. He started his career as a Wind Analyst at RWE Innogy.
