Ben Stilwell is starting a new position as Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for AXIS Re SE, the reinsurance underwriting unit of AXIS Capital, a global specialty underwriter and provider of re/insurance solutions.
Based in London, Stilwell brings to his new role 17 years of experience in the insurance industry.
He most recently held the role of Group Head of Enterprise Risk Management at AXIS, a role he started in 2022 when he joined the company.
Prior to AXIS, Stilwell served for 16 years at Beazley.
He joined the specialty re/insurer in 2006 as an Assistant Risk Manager, he was then appointed Risk Manager for the London office before taking over the same role in Connecticut, US.
He then moved back to London following his appointment as Senior Risk Management, a role he held for over seven years.
AXIS has also recently announced the appointment of a new Chief Data & Analytics Officer, Rebecca O’Kill, who will also be based in London.
In this role, she will be responsible for driving global data strategy and governance across AXIS.
