Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers (BILTIR) has announced it has created three new positions on its Board of Directors.
Firstly, Sylvia Oliveira will join the company in the position of Chair. She’s already a current Board member, and is Chair and CEO of Wilton Re Bermuda.
With over 25 years of industry experience, she is also Chief Risk Officer at the Wilton Re group. Oliveira holds a third Board member position, at the Association of Bermuda International Companies.
Next, Thomas Olunloyo, who is CEO of Legal & General Reinsurance and is also a current Board member, has been appointed to Vice-Chair.
His previous position was the Chief Actuary and Chief Investment Officer of L&G Re. He is also a Board member of the Association of Bermuda International Companies.
And finally, Frank Gillis, who is one of the founding members in 2011, has been appointed to the advisory role of Director Emeritus. Gillis was a co-founder of Athene Holding and is a Board member of the Association of Bermuda International Companies and Bermuda College.
Bermuda International Executive Director, Ronnie Klein, commented on the announcement: “I am very excited to begin work with Sylvia, Thomas and Chip in their new BILTIR roles.”
“The organisation has grown in size, prominence and effectiveness since it was founded in 2011,” Klein added. “These appointments will facilitate BILTIR’s strong commitment to provide real value to its membership and to Bermuda.”
