Bishopsgate Insurance Brokers has appointed Sam Galbraith as head of property and casualty for the Republic of Ireland.

In his new role, Galbraith will oversee the launch and growth of the company’s wholesale property and casualty business for Ireland. This will be done in conjunction with Ardonagh Specialty Europe with placement into carriers including Lloyd’s and the London Market.

Conor Geraghty, managing director of Bishopsgate’s international and Ireland division said, “Sam’s knowledge, experience, and market reach will be key to fuel our growth ambitions in scaling this business. His recruitment demonstrates our commitment to provide all our clients with access to the best London Market practitioners, first rate service and products within the property and casualty segments.”

Geraghty is also a new addition to Bishopsgate, having joined at the end of January.

Prior to Bishopsgate, Galbraith was an account executive and broker for Citynet, leaving there in December after nearly seven years at the company.
