7th September 2017 - Author: Staff Writer

Specialist re/insurance broker BMS Re US has appointed Paul Knutson, who joins from Willis Re, to Executive Vice President.

Knutson will assume responsibility for expansion of business targeting regional multi-line and coastal property catastrophe reinsurance clients, reporting directly to BMS Re US CEO Andrew Bustillo.

Andrew Bustillo, CEO, BMS Re US, commented; “Paul’s appointment is another step for BMS Re US as we continue to strategically build out our business. Our US Origination team has ambitious plans to match BMS’s tailored solutions to an increasing customer demand for independent ideas in today’s rapidly-evolving marketplace.

“BMS Re US is growing successfully in our target segments by attracting the very best talent in the market. As such, I am very pleased to welcome Paul to the team.”

Knutson brings more than 20 years broking experience to his new role, including most recently having served as geographic leader of Willis Re’s upper Midwest Personal & Small Commercial business.

Prior to Willis he worked as a Partner at TigerRisk Partners, where he was Managing Director for more than 10 years at Guy Carpenter.

Knutson commented on his appointment; “BMS Re US has positioned itself within its target customer segments as a true risk and capital advisory firm with refreshing ideas. The team-based culture that puts its clients first is exactly what is needed in today’s marketplace. I am excited to begin working alongside Andrew and the BMS Re US team.”

Knutson will joine BMS Re after he serves out his contractual obligations with Willis Re.
