Brit launches specialty platform Scion, hires Scott Brock as President

Brit Group has named Scott Brock, who joins from Advocate Reinsurance Partners, as President of newly formed specialty platform Scion Underwriting Managers.

Brock will be responsible for managing the specialty platform – which will partner with Brit, other markets, and third party capital to support the insurance needs of select industries.

Brock brings 25 years of insurance experience, and boasts strong investment expertise in financial services.

In his previous role as Advocate Reinsurance Partners, he joined as CEO in 2010 and oversaw all aspects of its operations until its sale in 2016.

Brock was a co-founder of Tobat Capital, and was key in all aspects of the company, including capital raising and portfolio management.

Prior to this, Brock held a number of leadership roles at E.W. Blanch Company.
