BRP Group has appointed Seth Cohen to be its general counsel and corporate secretary.
The Florida-based company has appointed Cohen to lead its legal, compliance, and regulatory functions. It is understood that Cohen’s new position will be a promotion, having joined BRP Group in February 2020.
Trevor Baldwin, CEO of the company, said: “Seth brings more than two decades of experience working across multiple industries. He has a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, supporting business growth and advising executives. He is an accomplished legal strategist and business lawyer.”
He added: “We are pleased to add Seth to our executive leadership team as his broad expertise will be valuable as our firm continues to grow and execute on its long-term objectives.”
Possibly one of the most-prominent items to go across Mr. Cohen’s desk will be the group’s recent foray into seeking an incremental term loan facility for its existing credit agreement, announced about five weeks ago.
That move, which would see BRP borrow $250m of new term B loans under its credit agreement, would increase its existing senior secured first lien term loan facility maturing in 2027 from $500m to $750m.
Cohen is not the only new promotion in recent months. In October, BRP Group announced that Jim Roche and Brian Schultz were being promoted to chief insurance innovation officer and president of MSI Multifamily and Emerging Markets. A little over two weeks after that was announced, the group said it was hiring Brian Murphy and Hiro Ushikii as part of an effort to buttress its Japanese practice group.
