Global specialty lines re/insurer Canopius has announced the appointment of Gabrielle Folliard as Head of Claims.
Folliard joins Canopius from Markel International, where she most recently served as Head of Specialty and Financial Lines Claims.
She is due to take up her new role in early 2019 and will report to Laurie Davison, Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Canopius.
“Gabrielle has extensive experience in claims management and a strong background in insurance legal practice and is well regarded across the market,” said Davison.
“She works collaboratively to achieve the best results for customers and all stakeholders,” she added. “We are delighted to appoint her and look forward to welcoming her to the team.”
Folliard also commented: “It’s an exciting opportunity to head a team that is well known across the market for its excellent claims service and responsiveness. I look forward to joining Canopius and helping to move the claims function forward.”
The announcement follows the appointment of several other key figures at Canopius in recent weeks, including the appointment of Alan Winch as Head of Accident & Health and the appointment of Nattakorn Wattanaumphaipong as Head of Reinsurance, Asia Pacific.
Canopius also expanded its presence in the Asia Pacific region with a series of other key appointments to its office in Singapore.
